Yes it is possible, but not in this way . Put a 3 mm electrode not toriated, Reverse the polarity, on gun positive , and weld the aluminum with full cleaning action ! Try ....

My buddy is a welder and had a crap job for a while when he was in school before he started for a massive oil company. When he was doing his training he was welding up little metal railings to X-ray quality just practicing for his tests lmao
